Ruby Beach, November 10th

Date

On November 10th, Lucas and I drove to the coast on a rare sunny, relatively warm fall day. First though, we stopped in Aberdeen and I made poor Lucas pose with their High School mascot in front of Safeway. (I believe it’s supposed to be a wildcat.) Ruby Beach, one of my favorite wild Washington stretches of coast line, was free of fog and the tide was far out, the lowest I’ve ever seen. We had excellent tide pool adventures, poking random creatures with sticks and getting close to starfish, sea anemones and snails.  We then explored the beach, waded barefoot through a stream and made it back to the trailhead just in time for sunset.
