This print series is by my student and studio assistant, the amazing Erin Oly. These are baltic birch four color reductive woodcuts, with multiple matrix printing for those luscious double exposure pieces. Each print is an impressive 26″ x 40.” Erin worked with self-portraiture this quarter, using her new relationship with her father as subject matter. This series integrates medium format studio photography as source material with printmaking. In lieu of a senior show (which basically doesn’t exist at Evergreen), she’ll be showing this series Northern, with fellow students Mike Dellinger and Moses Zederic, also advanced visual art students I have previously worked with. Of course, I will take photos. Amazing work, Erin!
