Northern’s upcoming second annual benefit auction

This month, September, is my last month as Gallery Director with Northern. I’m passing the project into the capable hands of Scott and Alex, local artists and entrepreneurs extraordinaire. After five years of working on the Olympia All Ages Project, from participating on the original board in 2008 to finding and renovating the original space on 4th Ave, to a successful Kickstarter campaign to relocate the space to its current address on Legion and the subsequent remodel there, it’s been a tremendous honor to volunteer my time supporting Olympia’s creative artistic and musical community. However, I need to prioritize my own artistic practice.

Since Northern is on the cusp of its Second Annual Silent Benefit Auction, and because the first auction was one of my favorite curatorial projects, I’m posting images from last year’s exhibit. We raised over $4,500 for Northern and had over 60 individual artists participate in the month-long event. I took home several gorgeous pieces myself, which continue to grace my walls. If you’re a local artist and would like information on donationg work to this year’s event, please contact gallery (at) olympiaallages (dot) org.
