This past Friday was Artswalk. Artswalk is like First Friday except it only happens twice a year. Tens of thousands of people come to Olympia to walk around, look at art, eat and socialize. We had a soft open for Northern over the weekend as we have yet to pass inspection. (Hopefully that will happen this week.) Anyway, we have our new sign! Artswalk was pretty fun. Lots of people showed up. I had some new screenprints up and a bunch of photos. The series was called “The Eternal Discrepancies Between What Is Said, Heard and Remembered.” Anyway, people seemed to like ’em.
Eric Flemming, Joel Braazel, Vanessa Lang and Rachel Lang doing the wave.
Stilt man even liked my work!
At the end of the evening, local high school harp virtuoso Guram Guram played harp like you’ve never heard it. Word on the street is that the kid even got a Fulbright. We’re talking looping and multi-tracking. I think half of Capitol High School crammed into Northern.
