Tamarind Turns 50 – Day 7

Written on September 26, 2010 at 2:06 pm, by

I rolled into Albuquerque a week after I left Olympia. Unfortunately, I didn’t take a whole lot of photos while I was in town– I guess it’s a testament to how at home I felt! I stayed at friend Conor’s place for a few nights as he graciously let me crash on his living room Continue Reading »

Petrified National Forest – Day 5

After a night spent at a Motel 6 in Holbrook, Arizona and dinner at the local Pizza Hut (I can’t even remember the last time I was in a Pizza Hut), I was ready to hit the road. I was supposed to arrive in Albuquerque that night– my first official destination in over a week. Continue Reading »

Sedona, Arizona – Day 4

Written on September 22, 2010 at 9:17 pm, by

Continuing through Arizona, I headed to Flagstaff, turning south for a day in Sedona. I made it to the outskirts of town as night fell. After 12 days on the road (albeit a few relatively stationary in Portland and Albuquerque), I made it back to Olympia on Tuesday and have started to edit hundreds of photographs. I traveled over 3,200 miles, spent approximately $300 in gas and another $200 for cheap motel rooms and camp sites. A couple hundred more Continue Reading »

I am sitting in a motel room in Boise, Idaho. I drank my first ever Five Hour Energy Drink approximately 4 hours ago, so I’m still buzzing. Is the room supposed to be spinning? Anyway, just as a list to myself, here’s what I did on my Summer Vacation: Drove through California’s Central Valley (never Continue Reading »

Pavement in PDX

Written on September 4, 2010 at 10:36 am, by

Pavement played at Edgefield outside of Portland last night with Quasi. It may as well have been 1994 again. I certainly felt 16. Pavement played the hits and misses, touching on all their releases. On stage for almost 2 hours, the set included quite a bit of witty banter between band mates and the audience. Continue Reading »
