I found this lil’ guy in the hallway today at work and promptly took him back outside. He quickly scurried under a log with two shakes of his enormous tail. Sometimes it’s the little things that make your day. UPDATE: This little guy is no stinkin’ Salamander! He’s a Northwestern Alligator Lizard, a subspecies of Continue Reading »

a good egg

Written on August 30, 2009 at 9:43 pm, by

Kombucha laid her first egg yesterday! Tonight, there was another beside it in the nest box. We’re leaving the eggs in the boxes until all the chickens know where they should be depositing their clutches. I’m very proud of my pretty brown hen. I think she’s pretty proud of herself too.

WTF?” This evening seemed aptĀ  for going through cases and cases of CDs, uploading all my once loved, incredibly nostalgic Continue Reading »

Written on August 7, 2009 at 3:10 pm, by

Summer posting has been fairly sparse, but rest assured that I have been lazily basking in the sun, hiding from the heat (we had a stretch of several 100+ degree days here in the Northwest!), reading, planning, and playing. Lots and lots of playing. I can’t believe it’s already August. a few things: 1. I Continue Reading »
